Carcassonne and Albi

The Citadel of Carcassonne

Carcassonne (“car-ca-son”) sits in the fertile Languedoc region. It is a medieval gem, with a complete set of ramparts and a medieval keep.

Carcassonne is famous for its cassoulet - white beans, sausage and grilled duck leg - cest magnifique!

ALBI

Albi ("Al-bee") was our next stop.  This city has an amazing cathedral made of bricks with a beautiful French garden.

A very well tended garden inside the Cathedral square

The Albi cathedral sits next to the Museum de Toulouse Lautrec.  Inside we saw his paintings and many posters made for Paris entertainment, especially from the Moulin Rouge.

But no cameras allowed in the museum.
