Also known as Nice ("niece") or the French Riviera.
After our drive from glorious mountain scenery, we now rub shoulders with the jet-set on the glamorous Cote d'Azur ("blue coast"). From beautiful chateaus owned by famous and secretive billionaires, movie stars, rock stars, and politicians (Putin!) to the Old Town of Nice where you can buy almost anything tourista and delicious to eat. Below are photos of our drive down the main boulevards, such as the Promenade d'Anglaise ("England") and the Promenade d'Etats Unis ("United States") showcasing the blue Mediterranean on one side and old chateaus and newer hotels on the other side:
We arrive!
Cote d'Azur
The Statue of Liberty identifies the Promenade d'Estats Unis.
As we walk into Old Town (just on the other side of these elaborate hotels and chateaus), we are greeted by another French honorific to Thomas Jefferson below:
Laurent bought us all gelatos from here!
