Saint Paul-de-Vence and Chateauneuf-du-Pape

After leaving Nice, we traveled to St-Paul-de-Vence, which is a medieval village perched high above the Riviera beaches.  We walked through its winding streets, beautiful old fountains, vine-covered stone walls and enjoyed views of mountains and the sea.

Wow! Look at the designs on the walking paths through town!

After St Paul de Vence, we traveled to the village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape (“New castle of the pope”) which is a wine making region and stopped for a wine tasting at the Skalli Winery.  There, Mark bought wine to be delivered back home!  At this part of Chateuneuf-du-Pape region, the wineries make blended wines.

Afterwards, we traveled up the hill to the original Chateau-du-Pape ruins and took pictures of the beautiful valley – in the distance we could hear thunder!
