Monaco is a separate country about two square kilometers that was attacked 700 years ago by Grimaldi and his men. Since then, a Grimaldi has run the country, recently by Prince Rainier who married Grace Kelly, and now by Prince Albert, their son. Monaco was a poor country until it established Monte Carlo as a gambling destination, thus increasing the value of the properties in Monaco and the family that runs it. The old casino, with fabulously expensive cars parked out in front.
The Hotel de Paris, which has a beautiful lobby and The American Bar (turn left off the lobby). Mark and I enjoyed drinks and appetizers at The American Bar.
